10 Proposals to make a change :))

* Nicolle's proposal is very convincing because it gaves new opportunities to people that have dissabilities. Also it gives to this people a way of thinking that they are equal and deserve the same treatment as normal people.

Ivania's blog proposed a good point for the criminals. Criminals are humans and much of them paid for their actions but they still have the right to have a family.

* I agree with Carol's proposal because criminals are humans but they comitted a crime and they have to pay the consequences of it. Criminals with a good behavior doesn't mean that they change for a better person or that they didn't comit the crime iin which they are accused.

Gaby's post is very interesting because it gives opportunities of a better live for the elderly people. This persons have the right to have a normal live and be treated equally since one of these persons can be our parents or grandparents.

* Francisco's proposal is very convincing and interesting. Equality is something that all people deserves and its a right everybody has. It guarantees that people would treat you with respect and that is what leads you to a success in life.

* I agree with Mariah's proposal because every women is equal, it doesn't matter in is married, divorced or single every women has the same rights to be treated with respect.

Nestor's post is very interesting since it talks in how Africans, Muslins and other cultures have gain their respect and equality from other cultures and people with disabilities should have the same treat since they are still humans and have the right to live a normal life.

* I agree with Randy's proposal because veterans are persons that risk their life for their nation and have the right to receive a payment every month.

Carolina's blog post is interesting since a lot of years people or Native Americans have struggled to have equality like white people. I agree with her because it doens't matter if you are black or white you are still made of the same thing.

* I like Karlitza's post because it states all the right elderly people have and that they are capable of choosing their own decisions.

Scholarships for all the students of the University of Puerto Rico

In oder for the government get benefits from the $800.00 dollars students have to pay every semester they have to give more method of helps for them. I Bianca Alvarez proposed a new scholarship that will help the students to pay on time. This scholarship will be approved for all the students of the university, for every person they will be a certain amount of money for the scholarship.

The scholarship will have a certain amount of money for every student base on the incomes of every person. This will benefit every student and also will benefit the government since they will have the payments on time. This money will come from private donations in which rich people will create a system of scholarphips for the students. Also this   scholarship will be given to the students every semester of classes. It is important to know that every student of the University of Puerto Rico will receive this scholarship depending on their incomes. If you my students vote for this amendment it will be approved rapidly for the first semester is coming. Remember is for the benefit of you my students and it will be done fairly for every person in the university.

This amendment will benefit all students and the government since we want to use this money for the benefit of the economical crisis the island is passing through. I'm counting with your vote to make a change and create peace between the government and the students, also to help you students to continue studying in the University of Puerto Rico.

UPR united we will win!

UPR(University of Puerto Rico) wants a change!

Since the situation in the university of Puerto Rico has turn worst, since the last months the government is making changes for the students. New methods have been made for the students to be more comfortable to pay their studies on time. The government have create new scholarships in benefit to the students that have a low income.

The government has established new methods like more scholarships, payment plans, and also loans for the benefit of the students. This will help the students gain more time for the dead lines of the payments. Students yet are not happy with the decision of not taking out the $800.00 dollars they have to pay every 1st semester classes, and still are protesting for their rights. Still they have not obtain to much of their protest but they are still fighting for new helps. Also the government have take the requirement of police officers in the university and know students are more quieter and doing things how they supposed to.

The government has realized that the $800.00 dollar they imposed some of the students could not afford it and they make methods to help them. Most of the students have not agree with the decisions the government have made to help them and they still are protesting by making strikes and stop classes. Therefore, I exhort the government to make more methods to help the students and also that the students think more of the decisions they take in the time of fighting with the police.

A student being attack by a police officer in the UPR
Students of the University of Puerto Rico have respond to the abuse of the police and the government has against them. They are doing protest against the treat they are having form the police. In some cases the students and the police had their conflicts like fighting and abuse verbally of each other.

The students are marching in the capital building and the university of Puerto Rico so they can be heard and stop the abuse against them. Also they have made strikes and stop the days of clases to let know the government they are also strong. This situation is getting worst everyday, the students and the police are more violent and they are getting to a point in where they can not interact with each other because they automatically start to fight. Some students and police officers had gone to the hospital because they have been attack and finish injured.

Therefore, the situation of the University of Puerto Rico had reached a point in which students have been put in jail and others are demanding the government because of the treat they have got from the police. Also the students had interfere with the reunion of the representatives of the government and had violently protest with no authorization of the comitte of the students and the university.

Opression of Students of Public Universities

Students of the University of Puerto Rico(UPR) have been mistreated since a long time ago. They have passed through many difficult situations to claim their rights of students. They are fighting to have more opportunities to pay their studies and get more money from their scholarships.

UPR students have passed through a lot of fighting, mistreating and violence. The police who are supposed to control the situation are violating the privileges students has as being part of the university. They abuse physically of the students and verbally. Some students had to be taken to the hospital since the police attack them for being protesting in the university for their rights. This situation has go to court, students demanded the government and the police because of the treat they have obtain from this people. The police and the government are violating the right of freedom of speech which one of the amendments.

In conclusion the group of the university of Puerto Rico(UPR) has been mistreated because of fighting for their rights. They have pass through abuse and the violation of their space of protecting for what they want. I hope the police and the government take consciousness of what they are doing and try to hear what the students are trying to have for a better university and country.
In this video the police starts attaking the students of the University of Puerto Rico because of being protesting in the capital building of Puerto Rico. The police start to attack them with pepper spray, they were hit with clubs and also they were push to the ground and abuse physically.

Student committee of the UPR!

The University of Puerto Rico (UPR) is one of the major projects of U.S. cultural domination since its opening in 1903. Since then, the university has been recognize as one of the best universities in Puerto Rico. Like in all universities their has been many problems made by the students for the claim of their rights and also have been made by the teachers.

In 1919 was founded the Student Committee of the UPR, to fight for their rights of students. Since then the group has  been increasing, since in Puerto Rico problems has also increased. One of the largest fights or strikes in the UPR are because of the economical problems in the island. The government through out the years try to solve this problems but they instead of helping are raising  taxes and the registration of the university. Since the strike of October of 1973 teachers and administration has helped the students fight for their rights for better opportunities to pay their studies and for the payment of more money. The Student Committee of the UPR in Puerto Rico has been a strong group, until know since they are facing one of the strongest strikes or fights for their rights and for the government to have consideration of their economical situation and stop raising taxes and give more opportunities for their paying methods.

Therefore, students have the right to fight for their rights and have more opportunities to pay their studies. This struggles of the government with the student committee has been very long since Puerto Rico economical status has been worse since long ago.

Traveling into another blogss :))

icolon's blog was intresting since I learned that Native Americans were the first group of people to live in the United States. Also they were hunters, fishers, and farmers. Whites threatened Indians to give their land since they discovered that the land was full of minerals and gold. Indians had to move to reservation camps since Whites take their land.

In Gabriela's essay I learned that Whites wanted that the Native Amercians assimilate or become like them. They wanted them to change their names to a christian name and educated them in the good way so whites can be seen as good peolple. Whites described the Indians as less educated, savages and uncivilized people. Also they wanted them to become totally of their culture.

Nicolle's post of the Nartive Americans was very interesting since it haves a lot of deatilas of the Indians. I learned that Indians were obligated to beleive in the same beleifs as the Whites. Also I learned that the Ghost Dance was inspired by Wovoka. During the reservation camps Whites made Indians to suffer a lot of diseases and hunger. Whites gave Indians alcohol in a form of medicine to their needs. They made them addictive to alcohol and they died.
In Carol's essay I learned that in all the movies of hollywood and of Native Americans, Indians are view asa the bad peole, savages and uncivilized. Also I discovered that in the reservation camps Native Americans chiefs were not longer the leader since whites were the one's who had total control of them. Indians lived in very poor conditions in the reservation camps since they depend on the supplies of the Whites.
Francisco's blog was very interesting since I leaned that white men and Indians used to get along in many ways they had their differences but they got along with that. Also that whay is shown in the movies is not the truth and is an exaggeration and is only to make rating.

Wounded Knee!

White people were unrespectful and take the land of the Native Americans. Indians were forced to sigh a treaty which if they refused they will go to war. Also if they accept the agreement Whites will pay them for the land with money.

Whites threatened Indians to sign a treaty in which Indians will give their land for money. The reunion they made to discuss the agreement was called the council and others were in the reservation camps in which Indians live. Whites promised Indians for their land 160 acre per family. If Indians refused the treaty they will go to war and who won will stay with all the land.

Indians had a religious dance called The Ghost Dance. This dance was a way to celebrate the return of god. Whites found out the ritual dance of the Indians and thought it was a way in which Native Americans will fight. Whites brought their troops and say to the Indians they had to give to them all their weapons and knifes. A deaf person didn't understand and whites thought he was challenging them and started to attack. Indians didn't have time to defend themselves and they all got killed. Their were approximately twenty-five whites killed, and two-hundred Native Americans.

Whites in exchange for the land of the Indians the promised them money, 160 acre per family. The Native Americans never saw the money since the whites never paid them. Over the years it was found that whites committed fraud against the indians by not giving them their money, then whites try to pay them but they didn't accept it.

Therefore, Indians passed trough a lot of bad things made by white people and troops. Whites never respect the land of the Native Americans and always try to take it from them. Indians were killed in 1876, know called Bury my heart at wounded knee.

Learning w/ other Blogs!

Nicolle's blog is interesting. I found many facts I did't know about Italains immigrating to the Unites States. I learn that also Italians immigrate because they live in overcrowded cities. At first there were little Italian immigrants in America but after few years that they started to look for better opportunities, America was overcrowded with italian immigrants. I recommend you guys my friend blog you will find also a lot of  information and important details about Italians immigrating to the United States.

Also I recommend you the blog of Gabriela's is full of information of recent cases of immigration that are happening in the world. It is sad to know that a police can detain you or deport you back or also register you for looking illegal or not an American person. What is happening in Arizona is sad, people are being discrimanted only for not being American and treated as strange people that could hurt somebody. In my opinion the government should be more flexible and start thinking about them being in that position.

It was amazing to learn that I have a friend that comes from many decendants like Indian, African, American, Portuguese, and Slovakian. Is cool to know that your family has many traits mix together. Also In Paola's blog I found how people view illegal immigration. Is sad to know people do not like to interact with immigrants just for not being American and for immigrating with illegal methods.

In Willie's blog I found how Chinesse immigrated to America. Chinesse also immigrated for better opportunities for their families. Also I learn that they travel by foot, boat and trains. After entering to the United Sates they has to pass through an intense registration in Angel Island and there it was decided if they could enter or not. It is surprising to know that if you do not answer in a correct way you were deported back to your country.  :/

My family immigration heritage :D

My descendants come from many parts of the world. My dads family originally came from spain, also my second name comes from spain and is an arabic term meaning having control of the situation. The mother of my grandfather from the part of dad was from Spain she married a Puerto Rican guy who was the dad of my grandfather. She came from her country for better opportunities since she lived in a poor city in Spain. Now in my dad family their is traits of spanish people and also my grand-grandfather after making his life in P.R he settle in California with my grand-grandmother and they had american sons. In the part of my mother their is spanish blood and also american.

Is interesting to know how big your family have grown and knowing that all are not from the same country as you. I will like to meet all my relatives and get to know their story. Also I will like to move to other country and make my life there for better opportunities and for mixing our traits too. :))

Wanting to enter the U.S!

Immigration is one of the biggest issues of the hole world especially in United States. People decide to migrate to America for better economical opportunities and for the american dream. It is sad to know how much this people  need to pass through to become an american citizen, and that they do not have money to afford it in the legal way. Also they migrate knowing that they could be kill or be deported back to their country. In these days people do not go legally because the government has increased the prices of legal immigration. I think the government should take in consideration the people that do not have that money to afford this and make a type of payment they can afford. Also the police needs to be more respectful with the people and treat them more kindly because they are also human beings.

Entering to the U.S!

During the 1800's life for Italians families was very difficult. People migrated to the United States for better job opportunities, one example of this is my family. Our life's in Italy was very difficult we lived in very poor conditions. In my house were my mom, dad, two brothers and me. We decided to immigrate to the U.S in January 12,1850, for better economical opportunities but it was going to be illegally, since we could not afford the process of entering in the correct way.
Entering to the United States was difficult in those days you had to pass through the intense registration of the police, discrimination and also adapting to a new language. In January 15,1850, we passing through the police, it was very scary they ask us a lot of things in which we had to answer that we would only go to visit our father that was our excuse to enter the U.S. Dad say he was also our brother and that we were desperate to see dad.We pass through a lot of registration and also our bags were not permitted to enter with us just for being from Italy.
When we finally could enter, in January 17 three days later, since that day we had lived in New York with my uncle Gaspare. My uncle help us a lot in those days in which we didn't have for food and shelter then as years pass my mom and dad find jobs and started to have money for a house and food. My brothers and I assisted to a school in which we were separated  according to the country of which we were. My family and I pass through a lot of discrimination including to find jobs, for studying and people in the streets make fun of us just for not having the same accent of New Yorkers.

My dad Simone, my mom Berenice, my uncle Gaspare, my borther Lucio,
my baby sister Matilde and I(Irene). Our family.
Entering to the United States for better opportunities was difficult and good at the same time. I like the U.S because as family and in a economical way we became grater. I wish nobody has to pass through the same I had and that people can understand why we did  it. Also I wish american people could treat us equally as we are.

Italians journey to America!

In the early 1800,there was little immigrants form Italy in the United Sates, after few years later the number of Italians immigrants in the U.S increase a lot. Italians immigrated to the states for better job opportunities and to escape low wages and high taxes.Looking for money at first was very difficult for Italians.

They use to shine shoes, rag-picking, sewer cleaning, and whatever it could gave them money to survive. Also another method was prostitution. Italians use to settled in the U.S according to their origins and of where they came from Italy. Their conditions of living were not easy and good since they were overcrowded. They had to save the little money they have for their families for food and their utilities. Years later new Italians generations disappeared the poor conditions and dirtiness of Italians in the U.S. Italians suffered a lot in the U.S trying to have better opportunities of living for there families.

It is very sad to know how people only for trying to have a better life they are worst than what they were in their country. In my opinion the government needs to give better opportunities of living for families in many different countries to avoid illegal immigrants in the United States. :)
